Who remembers 2D games on the Sega Saturn? Probably not many of you. So let me point one thing out. Sega Saturn had one thing over the Playstation, 2D graphics. No one really noticed it because it was all about 3D graphics when the 32-bit consoles came out. Then Sega releases a expansion cartridge that made the 2D power even more amazing. Now you know this let me point you to the best list so far of 2D beat-em-ups for the Sega Saturn. You may not have played them all, but there are some you should definitely play if you haven’t before.

My favorite of all from the list is Street Fighter Alpha 2. The Saturn controller was perfect for the Street Fighter series which made it even more enjoyable. The graphics were smooth and fluid. The characters had the perfect mix. Lastly the special moves you could do at the end were amazing, especially Akuma’s special move.
