Can you believe that sonic is 15 years old now. I still remember playing Sonic for the first time on the master system. The thrill of running across a screen with a blue hedgehog at insanse speeds or defeating Dr Robotnik for the first time was a true gaming experience. The first 3 Sonic games were all great and were always neck and neck with the Mario games, which in turn made Sega and Nintendo compete to make better games. So competition is a good thing for video games. It is a real shame that Sonic did not make a great transition to 3D as Mario did. So now Sonic is 15 will we be seeing something special from Sega to mark this anniversary? I have not seen anything yet that shows that Sega still can make an amazing comeback for Sonic. If I was Sega I would take note from the recent Mario game for the DS, that got such a great reception. Another 2D Sonic game may be what Sonic and Sega needs, after all 2D is definitely not dead and for platform games I still think it is a perfect style of game. A perfect example is Viewtiful Joe. However Sega have released something to celebrate Sonic’s anniversary, It is a 3D papercraft model of an entire Sonic Level for you to create yourself.
