I know what you mean Riot but the big companies will always get involved or use what is popular.

There is no doubt that street art is getting bigger and Im afraid to say that we will probably see more and more of this kind of thing.

But IKEA and street art definitely does not go together. But what are your thoughts on companies like Adidas and Playstation using street art as forms of advertisement?

def the coolest thing IKEA can ever attempt to embrace, IMO ... and that's the reality in time to come, where big corporations "adapt" said "alternative culture" to lure in their demographics and hence "consumerize" everything and in time everything "underground" goes "overground" and on your supermarket shelves and family stores.

an artist or creator doesn't need to sell-out, the corporations buy them over!

I don't like any of it, however i recognise that it'll happen, although underground art and culture will adapt and change, they will never be able to keep up, and there are some demographics they will ever be able to temp. Remember money sin't everything!

Well lets just hope that underground art does not turn into something really commercial. Ikea is just about the limit but when we start seeing companies like McDonalds or similar using underground art that will be the day I start to cry.

agree wif riot68, they may be able to "adapt" some, but by the time they do, things would've evolved even further (we can all hope otherwise tis running around in circles, innit?)

Tahir, suddenly Justin Timberlake popped into mind ~ him going down the street singing his tune, end-frame with an old dude jigging in fronta a coupla beatboys = and if this is as far as they'll reach? we could all have a cringe and a sighs a thinned breath of relief! LOL
