Bombus is a great company that gets vintage furniture and recycles it. They liven up the furniture by using retro comics and leave you with a unique and exciting piece of furniture. It looks as though there is no limit to what furniture or objects that can be recycled and you do not have to stick to retro comics, but nothing will be better than the comics in my opinion. Visit the Bombus website to find out more about what they do and how to purchase something. [link via Retro to go]

Creating art using lots of popular modern and retro icons sounds easy. But with the twist that Ben Frost has put on these icons, Ben’s art work is pure artistic genius. With so many favourites of mine in the art including Asterix, Pinocchio, Simspons and even Bambi (see below), you can not help but get involved with each art piece. Check out more of the art at Ben Frost Is Dead and while you are there take a look at the great video of the making of Fantastic Life. [link via Carlton Hibbert]

I remember seeing graffiti when I use to travel to school but I never saw anything as good as this. Two artists by the names of Bonom and Lork have created this sequence of images drawn on a wall on the back of Etterbeek train station which turns into a cool animation. I would love to see this in real life because the video is amazing. Street artists are becoming more and more creative which is great for us fans. [link via Okfuture]

Toe Jam & Earl was one of those games that came along and dared to be different. That is what made it such a success and it was one of the highlights of the Sega Megadrive (Genesis) era. You can tell by looking at the cover below that this game was super cool when we were kids. The video above is a great insight into what made this a great game. [link via Racketboy]

Lego is one of those toys that will always be around because it is so simple yet so clever. There is so much that can be done with Lego and these retro video game scenes are a great use of Lego. Every video game fan will recognise these scenes so I wont spoil it for you and let you guess the games instead. If you are stuck here is a little clue, they are all great NES games. Hopefully there will be more scenes soon because we all love Lego (and video games as well!!!). [via LEGOd Video Games]

Making toys yourself has been going on for a long time and here is a article from 1950 on how to give Santa a hand at making some toys. I love that huge gun, one of the coolest retro home made toys I have ever seen and the giraffe art stool is a brilliant idea. View all the pages of the article at modern mechanix.

Street art has gone way beyond simple graffiti and tagging. Louis Lambert’s art is a perfect example of this. Currently living in Madrid, Louis Lambert (aka. 3ttman) is a French artist who describes his style as “PopTrash”. That is a great description of his form of art which blends many mediums and styles. I love the street art work which is very unique, but his paintings are just as good. There is also a bit of a retro and pop art feel to his art which I really enjoy. You can see more of his art work and learn more at Illustration Mundo.
