I bet its not as big as this giant NES control pad created by Eyes5 measuring 100cm by 43cm. The NES pad is made out of various materials and you have to agree that this looks just like the real thing zapped by a “Honey I Blew Up the Kid” gun. However it does not actually work so this is purely to show off. Check out more information about the NES Control pad here and also other video game inspired art work.

Artist Name: Nixon

Website: mancus.deviantart.com

Bio: I’m originally from the UK but I moved to the USA last year. The move prompted me to pursue my creative ambitions as I had a lot of free time. I have been furiously painting like a rabid beaver for the past six months. I’m now in a place where I’m happy with my fart and that I can display it for the world to see.

I paint on found wood a lot of the time as i feel the art has a little bit more character if the surface has been used. I’m also starting to paint on canvases more which is a nice change.

I also plan to showcase my art in galleries in the next few years.

Art Category / Medium: Pop Art, Pop Surrealism. I use Acrylics in my paintings and Acrylic inks in my drawings.

This video from 1991 shows Martin Sweeney setting a world record for skating 100 cones in a slalom at an insane pace. At first I thought the video was a joke but when he gets in to his full rhythm you realise that this is no joke but just pure skateboarding awesomeness. Got any better skateboarding videos? Send them over.

The Nintendo Famicom and NES are really popular gaming machines for Mod freaks and this Famicom guitar mod is one of the greatest mods I have seen. This is a actual home made electronic guitar but the only downside is that the controllers are not actually used for anything. This would make a perfect display piece for my retro themed bedroom (not quite started but this would be a great start). For mroe information and more pictures of the creation of this guitar visit this link.

If you’ve been following along the toy scene for any amount of time, you may have come across Sjor Trimbach and his Brickboy paper toy creation. Brickboy dates back to 2005 way back when I was just getting started in my toy obsession. I’ve always been intrigued by the paper toy idea, I think I’ve mentioned before, and this new toy by Sjors is right there with his original brickboy for being innovative and very interesting. It combines badges and a standing paper toy. The badge being placed where a head would logically be placed. The designers combine designing the badge with the paper body to come up with a whole design. I like what I’ve seen from the designers, I just wish I could get a chance to design my own.

Thank you, ToysREvil for the post on this

I am really feeling the sounds of Spank Rock these days but none of my friends are on the same boat. This is the video for the single Rick Rubin. What do you think?

These remakes of 2 classic paintings, Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” and Vincent Van Gogh “Self Portrait”, have the main subject turned into a Lego character mini figure. The result is quite special and I would love to see more of these lego masterpieces. [via Brothers Brick / Klocki]
