I am a big of fan of Konami video games, past and present, but I never realised that they had taken inspiration for some of their in game characters from Hollywood movies. This list of Konami characters and their 80s counterparts shows some of the similarities and its quite amazing how some characters look like straight copies. Have I lost respect for Konami now?… Never. [via BBPS]

The Dreamcast was only alive for 3 years, a fact I only learnt today, but in true gamers heart it is still a well respected console. Te Dreamcast as you probably know was Sega’s last ever console which was quite a sad time but its good to see Sega is still alive and kicking with some great games and arcade machines. CVG has put together a great article covering The rise and fall of the Dreamcast. A interesting read which may persuade to dig up a Dreamcast from somewhere.

There is quite a lot you can do with post-it notes these days. Well actually there isn’t so its refreshing to see that these students done something so creative with a whole load of multi coloured Post-it notes. The post-its were accurately placed on the inside of windows over 4 floors acting as giant pixels to recreate a Donkey Kong level. The stats of the project are quite amazing as it was completed in only 5 hours by 10 people. You can view all the pics and more information at the UCSC website.

Origami (see the wiki explanation) is quite an amazing form of paper craft with some even more amazing results. Origami is seen as a retro Japanese art form but it still going strong in the present day and this list of Badass origami stuff shows some stunning origami work from artists such as Robert J. Lang, Jason Ku and Brian Chan.

In the 80s we saw many robots in movies and cartoons and in the back of our mind we thought “wow, these will all exist in 20 years time”. Fast forward to the present day and we have been left disappointed. Cracked has put together a great list of 80s Robots We Expected to Exist By Now. I guess we will just have to wait another 20 years.
This is a new world record for a pyramid created out of pennies, 289318 pennies to be exact. However this is not just a one off piece of money art but is a penny pyramid project with a lot more to come in the future.

Well it looks like Seymour and Marty have recently been able to get out and really get their legs stretched, and they seem to be enjoying it a lot! What beautiful weather, I’m sure they’re thinking… I’m sure they’ll make great additions to all of our collections huh? Don’tcha think? Anyway.. Thank Andy over at Crazy Label for the heads up and new pix!

On another note, as I visited their site today I found out that Gavin Strange, is at it again, getting new companies to sign him on, this time, of course, its Crazy label! Would you stop man, with all of your success?! Sheesh! there are some guys out here who are still trying to figure out how to begin!! LOL. Coming soon to a doorstep near you, Bully Boombu. Yes I finally did it, I’ve been able to hook up with an awesome sculptor (to remain anonymous for now) to create a sculpt of my Bully Boombu character and a mold. I will be casting resin copies for interested parties in the future. I’m very excited to do this! They’ll be hand painted and then distributed by myself. I am also considering the possibility of DIY versions, but that’s to be decided still. For now I have images of the very early stages of the sculpt and I should be posting the progress pics as they are made available to me..

I am hoping this is just the beginning for me. We shall see huh?
