Its great to see that vintage coin-op machines are not all being chucked away but instead restored. The Coin-Op collection on flickr is a superb collection and example of what a wonderful sight old coin-op machines can be.

Another retro style radio to add to growing list but this is one of my favourite designs in a long time with its cool lime green colour combined with the stylish grill styled centre. Grab it from V&A at only £30.

ANSI art not to be confused with pixel art is a trend from the 80s which could be making a come back thanks to events such as the upcoming ANSI art exhibition in San Francisco early next year. I have to say there is not much difference to pixel art if you do not look carefully but it does seems to be a more complicated process to create. I can not wait to see ANSI art in the future.

I have to say there is something very appealing about the craftsmanship of this Memento Mori1810 Skull Pocket Watch but I just can not see how someone can pay $16000 to carry a scary skull like this around with them and crack open the skull to look at the time.

Momento Mori in Latin means “Rembember you are mortal, remember you will die, remember your death”… uumm this watch gets more and more morbid.

Various stamp keyboards were made in this style with 1 nations stamps covering each keyboard. The stamps look to be all collectors stamp and so the result is a very vintage looking keyboard. I think you will either love this or hate it.. I can not decided if the cluttered look works. However one thing I am sure about is that you will probably spend more time looking at the keyboard than at the screen trying to work out where on earth all these stamps come from. [via Makezine]

How on earth can a Hewlett-Packard ZT1000 laptop that runs both Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux look this amazing. Well having the skills of Richard R. Nagy aka Datamancer is how. The steampunk laptop features an “elaborate display of clockworks under glass, engraved brass accents, claw feet, an antiqued copper keyboard and mouse, leather wrist pads, and customized wireless network card. The machine turns on with an antique clock-winding key by way of a custom-built ratcheting switch made from old clock parts”.

All I know is that any laptop I go out to purchase now will be completely dull and boring in comparison. I mean just look at the beautiful casing when the laptop is closed.

At first I thought this was just a vacuum figure but it is in a fact a mini working USB retro vacuum for people who sit at all the desk all day and want to clear those crumbs. The retro styling is just a added bonus.. a very cute and cool USB device. [via Geeklogie]

Acorn Studios have made these tribute pins for the bulky Apple keyboards from the 80s and 90s found. They are real buttons taken from rescued keyboards from their local landfill. These are for the real apple fans to wear and show their love. [via Chip Chick]

MIXA is neat new website which will give retro lovers a chance to design a cassette tape and actually use it thanks to the fact that it is an USB cassette and has 1GB of memory. The steps are pretty simple and for 20 quid you can’t go wrong… unless you have no design skills in which case you can use one of the pre-loaded designs. [via Retro to go]
