Artist Showcase - Danielle Lamberti

Artist Name: Danielle Lamberti

Website: daniellelamberti.com

Bio: Danielle is a Painter and Illustrator and resides in New York. Born 1983 and she was raised in Brooklyn in a “Typical Italian” household where she would draw even from a young age. She has worked on both commercial and fine art projects. She started out designing licensing products for Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. She then started really thinking about fine art during her internship for Jonathan Levine Gallery located in Chelsea, NY. She assisted installing artworks for Jeff Soto, Tim Biskup and Camille Rose Garcia. Her art is now inspired from her all girl catholic school education, Girls from the five boroughs of New York City, and bad behavior. They also have their own nationalities and races as well. “Bimba’s” or “Pupa’s” which mean dolls are what she often calls her characters by. Everything from her palette to her characters has meaning within each individual piece. With subtle icons that have hidden messages, so they just don’t “look pretty.”

Artist Showcase - Scott Scheidly

Artist Name:Scott Scheidly

Website: www.flounderart.com

Bio: Ohio Born. At age four I attempted my first art project by devouring a 10 pack of crayons thus turning my diaper into a Jackson Pollack. At age six I was introduced to the sweet nectar of school paste. At around this same time period I began producing turkey drawings by tracing my hand. At age seven I lost my thumb in an unfortunate Big Wheel accident ending my successful “Hand Turkey Period”. At age ten I ate more paste, however at age eleven I switched to water based paints & modeling clay. Between age twelve to sixteen I was in a daze from the paints I had eaten which I found out to be oil based. I did not produce much art during this time which we will call the “Your Sons Not Quit Right Period”. At age seventeen I had kicked my habits and refined my skills and began to earn money with art for the first time by doing fellow students art projects for lunch money. At age twenty I apparently graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and moved to Florida unbeknownst to me. I still live in Florida where I enjoy floundering about and painting pretty pictures, and I still eat paste now and again just to remind myself of my roots and how I ended up like this. Some day I hope not to be famous.

“The truth will set you confused”.

Great New Art By Great Artists

Nate Williams - Limited Edition series called “Anti-Hero” (more here). Nate keeps on impressing with his unique style and fresh ideas. I love the red used in this series and the way each art piece makes you sit and think about what Nate is portraying.

Alex Noriega Minipaintings (set 1, set 2, set 3). Alex manages to cramp so much into each art piece with out making the art look cramped. How does he do it? Beats me but there is denying that Alex’s work is getting stronger and stronger and is definitely an artist to look out for.

Mikeatron - Submission for the Kissybook. Looks to me as though this a love crazed angry Mexican wrestler. I featured Mikeatron before for the great Gastrointestinal Distress art piece.

Mattias Adolfsson puts a neat twist on houses with 3 great pieces. Mobile Cityblock (above), Mobile home and Floaters. The Mobile home concepts would be very interesting

Alberto Cerriteno is one of the latest artists I have come across and I am really enjoying all of his art. Alberto’s style is superb and and each art piece he has produced recently is stunning. The pick of the bunch is the “In Orbit” 12″ X 20″ Watercolor, ink and coffee over wood panel art piece. Make sure you check out the Alberto Cerriteno blog or flickr photo set

MAiLmeART - Open Call For Submissions

MAiLmeART.com was created by Darren Di Lieto, the founder and editor of LCSV4, after toying with the idea of doing a collaborative project that everyone involved in gets something out of. MAiLmeART is a little project designed to test your skills, make you some money and give you the chance to have a bit of fun. Oh!.. and win some really cool prizes.

Submissions can be envelopes or packages which have been drawn on, painted , dipped in acid, covered in paper mache (anything you want really) but they must look amazing and they must have travelled though the post with the postman able to see the work, so you can’t paint a canvas and wrap it up and post it to me. The wrapping is your canvas or in most cases an envelope.

The best thing about this project is that in 18-24 months MAiLmeART will be holding an exhibition in London (venue to be confirmed). The show will include submissions from all the artists which will be on sale at the exhibition. The creators of items that sell at the show will receive 70% of the price their creations sell for.

Head over to MAiLmeART to get involved now.
