MIXA is neat new website which will give retro lovers a chance to design a cassette tape and actually use it thanks to the fact that it is an USB cassette and has 1GB of memory. The steps are pretty simple and for 20 quid you can’t go wrong… unless you have no design skills in which case you can use one of the pre-loaded designs. [via Retro to go]

Forget the fresh new iPod designs you need some vintage styling and they don’t get much better than a cassette tape MP3 player. Look closely and you will see the DJ decks styling giving it a extra boost of style. [via Freshpilot]

Now here is an odd use for those vintage cassette tapes. Brian Dettmer created the skull and skeleton by melting 80s metal band cassettes. The skull and skeleton are both currently on display at the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago. Creepy but cool.
