About The Show: Behold, the greatest and only plastic octopus themed artistic event the world has ever seen! Because we are self indulgent narcissists, we thought it only fair to try and milk the release of our beloved Lefty toy for all its worth, and what better a way to do that than invite 30 of our favorite artists and closest friends to play pimp-my-lefty and then exhibit the finished pieces for the world to see. Artists include Jeremyville, Julie west, Jeremiah Ketner, DGPH, Mike Burnett, Mr Jago and many more

Spit & Polish was something all custom toy fans have been dreaming about for a very long time. Doktor A finally got the solo show he deserves and boy did he live up to the expectation with some magnificent custom pieces. The highlight of show for me is the custom Soopa Coin Op Bros titled “The Secret History of Video Games: Pac Gentleman”.

This is what Doktor A had to say about the piece;
“When this game was first released in 1880 it was so hugely popular in taverns and inns that the bank of England was forced to mint more threepenny bits to keep up with demand. The game was created by messrs Nam & Nam and Co. as a novelty pastime for the masses. Outdoing the previous top public house game of Shove Ha’penny. “

Check out the rest of the customs below and any custom toy artists out there take note. The show runs until Nov 31st at Cardboard Spaceship in California, USA.

I have never been this excited about an art show and so I could not resist posting up these preview pics of the Shepard Fairey - NINETEENEIGHTYFOURIA that kicks off tomorrow night at SwollenSpace (StolenSpace, Old Truman Brewery) in London. Hope to see you all there!!!!

“Party Bullshit” is a reflection of what a good part of my life has been about, and sometimes still is; whether it be from watching b-boys getting down on the jams of back then, watching the ladies doing their thing too, getting sweaty with Mitch at Co-op on a sunday night, or hanging around in the Hoxton Square afterwards… even the long train or night bus ride home…
The flip side to the partying is the reality of raising a child in an uncertain world, where environmental and geopolitical issues seem to point towards an ever more difficult future for all of us… As quoted by Mode2

I have just arrived back from the cool little exhibition that took place at the Bodhi Gallery, the Sneaky Critters Show. With a line up of artists creating some very fun and colourful art pieces I think everyone left with a smile on their face. The highlight was the line of mini canvases by various artists with some very creative ideas packed into such a small medium.
It was great to meet Lunartik who created the superb Thundercats tribute piece above. It was equally a pleasure to meet Miranda from Clutter Magazine. If you did not make it down then I am afraid you missed out as it was only a 1 night event. Click through to see all the images from the show.
