I have just arrived back from the cool little exhibition that took place at the Bodhi Gallery, the Sneaky Critters Show. With a line up of artists creating some very fun and colourful art pieces I think everyone left with a smile on their face. The highlight was the line of mini canvases by various artists with some very creative ideas packed into such a small medium.

It was great to meet Lunartik who created the superb Thundercats tribute piece above. It was equally a pleasure to meet Miranda from Clutter Magazine. If you did not make it down then I am afraid you missed out as it was only a 1 night event. Click through to see all the images from the show.

20th September - 21st October 2007
Stolenspace Gallery
Dray Walk, The Old Truman Brewery
91 Brick Lane
London E1 6QL

Opening night tonight at 6.30pm. Definitely worth checking out if you are in London. Opening nights always have a great atmosphere and I will definitely be there to bring you some photos.

“Seattle artist Charles Krafft utilizes the traditional techniques and materials of decorative Delft ceramic painting to explore the sometimes-Orwellian realities of our times. Images of natural and socio-political catastrophies decorate his ceramic objects. In addition to ironic commemorative plates and plaques, Krafft makes porcelain weapons and ammunition. Krafft has produced some amazing Delft pieces for this show including hand grenades, AK 47s and Tommy guns.” [Info via Stolenspace]

Pedro Inoue - Terror Mon Amour At StolenSpace

23rd August - 17th September

Terror Mon Amour is the first solo show of Pedro Inoue. The exhibition is a vision of an evil paradise of our decadent corporate culture. The works seduce and manipulate with their excess, drawing the viewers attention to its superficial beauty. It sheds light on the power of image today by mimicking the formulas that corporations and governments use to disguise the most horrendous acts of war, torture and terror.
Artist statement: My work is a visual response to the state of the world today. I try to put into evidence the corrosion of today’s consumerist society through accumulation and not destruction. Using the symbols and messages that constructs our corporate culture, I want to create a portrait of our contemporary society, reflecting the duality of beauty and horror present in our daily lives.
