320,000 old train tickets we used to create a black and white pixel version of Mona Lisa. There were also recreations of other master pieces which were all created by 300 employees over a 3 month period in a department store in Osaka. [via Pink Tentacle]

Indulge yourself at the gallery of hand transformed PEZ by Atypyk and bask at the delightful results. I love the fact that modifications are very subtle and refined.

Regular readers will have seen many great uses for the dead Cassette Tape but it looks as though there is mor to the cassette tape culture then I expected. Design boom takes a loot at the growing Cassette Tape Culture. The highlights on the list are the transformers cassette tape and the dress created by weaving cassette tap.

Retro video game fans love to wear their heroes on their t-shirts these days buy not all your gaming heroes may be on a ready to buy t-shirt so why not do a DIY job by following the “Make a Video Game Pixel Art T-Shirt” guide. It is quite a simple process and the results are quite stunning.

As everyone waits for the upcoming and awesome looking Transformers movie some people are keeping themselves busy by pretending to be actual transformers. [Thanks Darren]

Matt Hawkins is the brains behind these superb custom paper toys and definitely deserves a shout out with the collection he has created. I adore the cartoon feel to each toy and the variety of design and shapes for each toy. There are currently 5 designs available for free to download, print and create and Matt aims to add a new design every month. I look forward to seeing more toys but in the mean time head over to Custom Paper Toys and enjoy yourself making these fun toys.

Matt also has some videos so you can see a 360 view of the toy and also how the toys is articulated and can move.

I featured a giant NES controller a while back and the disappointing think was that it did not actually work. Good news is that is someone thought it would be a cool idea to build a giant working NES controller and after 4 weeks there it was.

You can see the actual progress of the controller being made over at spark fun and I am sure that if you are a bit of a electronic whiz you could probably make one yourself as well. Since the controller is so big you need 2 or 3 people to play so it takes multi-player gaming to a whole different fun level.

I adore these cards made by Rock Scissor Paper which feature some superb designs with vintage fabric patterns. I especially like the insect and animal based designs which are extremely cute.

I would love to make some cards one day myself using some retro wallpaper or fabrics as the patterns result in some truly stunning effects.

had intended to post info. about this wooden toy while it was still in the creation stage but had overlooked this one. Sorry about that folks. This is a wooden toy prototype based on Alexis West’s character Glokock from his designs. Alexis has many other amazing creations at his very cool, and Flash-boosted, I might say, website. the Swinging Seesaw. This site is a must to check out, and you can also find photos of the Glokock during its build up.
