Gusti has created these adorable animals using what appears to be a collage style using various mediums and objects. You have to take a close look at every piece to really appreciate the great attention to detail the artist have achieved. See if you can work out what objects have been used to create the various details… such as the screw heads for the nose on the monkey. [via Drawn]

Jeremy Dower used to have a very fun to navigate site with some great art work. The bad news is that site has now gone… but the good news is that the new site is even more exciting to go through and is filled with some mighty impressive art. The first thing that attracted me to Dower’s work is the isometric perspective for a lot of his work and he has used that to stunning effects. Check the Jeremy Dower website and enjoy yourself.

View the superb type designs and illustrations by the very creative Alex Trochut. Alex is a freelance graphic designer based in Barcelona and believes that “More is more”. This kind of attitude to design usually spells disaster but that is not the case when you see Alex’s work.

Graham Corcoran is a freelance illustrator based in Dublin, Ireland who’s work has been in magazines, books adverts and he has also worked as a concept artist for video games and animation. His illustration style caught my eye because some of his work reminds me of all the great illustrations from the past and this is due to a superb retro style and colour pallet he uses for many of his illustrations. Visit Graham Corcoran’s website or blog to see more of his great work.

This gallery of vintage polish posters contains over 200 examples of retro poster beauty, which have been designed by polish artists since since 1940. The foreign language typography adds to the design as its always fun not to know what it really says.

You probably wonder what happens to Mario when he dies in all his video games. Most people would think that he is reincarnated. But the truth has been revealed by Coin Heaven with the help of the illustration by Bill Mudron of Life Meter Comics.

Artist Name: Matthew Smith

Website: www.matthewsmithillustration.com, altpick.com/members.php?id=17851

Bio: Born in south central Pennsylvania, Matthew grew up in the small town of Hanover, adjacent to Gettysburg. At the quintessential age of 18, he moved up and out, north and east, to New York City and enrolled in classes at Pratt Institute. It was there that he received his BFA in illustration, as well as a vast array of student loans. After interning for a small time at the Society of Illustrators, he realized that even the most famous artists he met were completely down to earth, and he thought that maybe he too could be a part of this wonderful group of people. He was right. Matthew’s work can be seen in countless publications around the world, all done from his cozy studio is Brooklyn, New York, where he currently resides with his love, Katie, and their cats, Rocket and Bean.

Art Category / Medium:
Prismacolor Markers, Rapidograph Pens and Photoshop for touch ups.
