Collecting video games and keeping everything tidy seems impossible most the time as gamers don’t want to tidy, they just want to play. However there are always exceptions and alxbly’s gaming lounge is one of those exceptions. The room looks something straight out of a home cinema showcase magazine but the gaming collection is where the magic begins.

Owning and keeping multiple consoles is one of the key signs for a true gamer. In the day and age of pert exchange and eBay gamers usually get rid of the games and consoles that are out of date.

If you are a N64 fan the pic above will make you green with envy. I just don’t see the reason for owning so many controllers but who cares because the collection is awesome. Check out more pictures of alxbly’s gaming collection.

Check out these neat tutorials on how to make these LEGO figures of loved Nintendo characters and if you have the LEGO pieces lying around you can try it too. If not enjoy just enjoy the video and the theme tunes in the background.

I featured a giant NES controller a while back and the disappointing think was that it did not actually work. Good news is that is someone thought it would be a cool idea to build a giant working NES controller and after 4 weeks there it was.

You can see the actual progress of the controller being made over at spark fun and I am sure that if you are a bit of a electronic whiz you could probably make one yourself as well. Since the controller is so big you need 2 or 3 people to play so it takes multi-player gaming to a whole different fun level.

Watch 1252 famicom aka NES title screens evolve over 11 years. It is quite intriguing how much effort was put into some titles and how some screens are just a blank screen with a title and a few options. But the honest truth is that no one really caes what a title screen looks like. Still the video is a awesome trip down the 8-bit memory lane.

Gibby has been collecting video games since 1980 as explained in the Collecting Journey and what a collection it is. You can see from the pictures of Gibby’s retro gaming room that the collection is something that would put most video game stores to shame. However the collection is not the highlight for me… that award goes to the Mario level wall and NES ledge (pictured above), simply brilliant. Puts the other gaming walls I featured before to shame.

I was just watching Ask a Ninja and so I was in the mood for some ninja gossip… and guess what two classic Ninja games are coming to the Wii Virtual Console. The games are Ninja Gaiden from the NES and Ninja Spirit from the TurboGrafx16. Along side these 2 Ninja games is Pac-Man. I am surprised Nintendo has not made more fuss about Pac-man. I know its is old but it is one of the most popular games ever made. More info about all 3 games over at The Last Boss.

METEOR in Tokyo is running an exhibition of art designed Famicon cartridges called “My Famicase Exhibition“. There is tons of great Eastern style art work to check out but its just a shame we cant read what they say. [via Kotaku]

I started playing video games during the 8-Bit era and so I was excited to watch this top 10 list by game trailers. However I had to wait till no.5 in the list to say “I played and loved that game”. That game is Mike Tyson Punch Out and a interesting fact about it is that it is still the best selling boxing game. I think No.1 on the list deserves to be there and now I look at it, I have to say the graphics are quite impressive for a 8-Bit game. So do you agree with the list? If not what games did they miss out that you feel should be in there. [via Gay Gamer]
